The Seagate Cheetah 15K.5 hard drive is both an internal and external storage system. With a high data capacity and a speedy transfer rate, it saves your information quickly. Keep up to 146.8GB of emails, business documents, and transactions on laptop or desktop computers. This fifth-generation Seagate Cheetah 15K HDDs are reliable 3.5-inch drives. They have a non-recoverable error rate improved by a factor of 10 compared the previous generations. The HDD contains the Seagate-exclusive IRAW process that helps verify during idle times that the data has been written properly. This high-performance product offers 15,000 RPM spindle speeds with a transfer rate of 300 Mbps of data. Users can use the Seagate Cheetah 15K.5 internally by connecting their computer using a SCSI, SCSI Ultra 320, or the SAS Interface.The Seagate ST3146855SS is fully compatible with the Serial Attached SCSI standard. Thus, you'll be able to take advantage of everything this interface has to offer. Your system software will be able to transfer files at the highest speed possible for your drive bay. Performance numbers grow with the type of drive bay used. This hard drive is forward compatible with new hardware standards, which also makes it useful for RAID assemblies. You can also string more than one 15K Cheetah hard drive together to get a logical disk with nearly 300GB of storage. RPM numbers stay the same when a drive is used in an array.If you're replacing an existing SATA SSD, then you can easily attach an adapter to these drives. They come ready to work with IBM, Western Digital, and Dell PowerEdge servers based on the SAS standard. Big iron system administrators can easily create hard links on these drives. It's fully compatible with open-source technology solutions as well.Large form factor Dell machines running Linux or FreeBSD to serve mobile content to client computers use the unit easily. The OS hard disk cache will buffer most of the data clients work with.
