But why not show that in the picture of the auction? They knew it didn't have a cover. I expected 'very minimal damage to the cover' not completely missing.

Das Konzept finde ich großartig das Bücher bekommen eine zweite Chance für ein guten Preis verkauft und andere eine Freude machen und nicht verstauben irgendwo oder in Vergessen geraten. Shipping was tracked (good) but the book was packed in a simple plastic envelope which wansn't even padded (bad). Condition of the book exactly as advertised (used but in very very good condition). All in all I'm pretty satisfied, and were it not for the envelope thing I'd give the seller a 5/5 feedback. As it is I'm giving him a 4/5 positive feedback.
