Few British actresses share the legacy of Dame Diana Rigg (b. 1938), one of the most celebrated of all English players in television, film and theater. Rigg's career, of course, began with a bang, as she shot to national fame in her late 20s and early 30s, portraying spy Emma Peel on the series THE AVENGERS (1965-68), and the wife of James Bond in the feature ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE (1969).
