I have a basswood body CHarvel which sounds bright whatever pick I put in it. However, Dimarzio advised that the Tone Zone should be be used to increase the bass and low-mids and roll down the highs. I installed this pick up as soon as I got it and now my guitar sounds "normal" as opposed to being too bright and thin.

Had to contact the seller - he told me that was Ebay's fault, and after I wrote to Ebay, the item was found and finally shipped to me.
