Product Information
Several citizens in a tight-knit English town vie for a single spot on the local Parish Council following one member's sudden death. Originally airing as a three-part miniseries on HBO, THE CASUAL VACANCY centers around the secrets and arguments that are harbored and revealed by the council hopefuls, their loved ones and their neighbors. Eventually, deivious and selfish acts lead to collateral damage and further unintended consequences that shake this affluent, seemingly vibrant town to its core. The mysterious and dramatic tale is based on a novel written by J.K. Rowling, and the film stars Rory Kinnear, Michael Gambon and Julia McKenzie.
