It works well, keeps light off the front element and provides protection for the front element. But because the pictures are not very detailed, let me describe what you are getting. This is an 82mm machined aluminum cylinder with black anodized finish. There is a 82/77mm step down ring, this hood screws into the filter threads. You cannot use a filter and difficult to install lens cap.
