They heat up in about 2 minutes. They have a digital temperature control which allows over 120 degrees setting. I'm a very pleased customer. Agree with other buyers about the adjustable heat option as most of these seat heaters are simply 0n/off. It is a little narrow in the width but not a negative for me as I find that being narrower it doesn't slip that much from side to side when I get in and out of my old Jeep. Thanks
