Very solid despite being very lightweight. I've hauled around wood for camp fires on it without issues. The black paint is very good and protects against rust for up to 2 years in my experience. Even though I use cheaper ratcheting straps they haven't bent the rack itself even after long drives with cargo. Just make sure to keep your roof rails as far as part as possible, if they are adjustable!
