Instructions say 165 lbs. max... don't know if that is per rail or combined weight across both rails. There are some things left out of the instructions. Washers are for screws that hold plastic mounting brackets to cross rail, not thumb screws. I had to transport 3x 8' dolly-track for a video shoot. The total weight was 144 lbs. I tied them close to the edge. the racks flexed quite a bit, and I was concerned the plastic end pieces might break. The flexing of the racks over bumps seemed excessive. Because of the plastic ends, I don't have a lot of confidence to use them. Rigid metal would be better.
