Synopsis
A compelling account of the Red Army's epic struggle to drive the Germans out of Russia and back to Berlin., Beginning with the destruction of the German Sixth Army at Stalingrad, The Road to Berlin tells the story of how the Red Army drove the Germans from its territory, and finally invaded the Reich.Usingan enormous range of primary sources, Erickson describes the fightingand hardship on a scale almost unimaginable today. A comprehensive, compelling and immensely readable account, The Road to Berlin is indispensable to any student of WW2., The follow-up to the acclaimed "The Road to Stalingrad "tells the compelling story of the Red Army's epic struggle to drive the Germans out of Russia and back to Berlin. Using Soviet, German, and Eastern European primary sources, John Erickson describes fighting and hardship on an almost unimaginable scale. The detailed narrative covers battles on all the fronts. The inside information on the Soviet system of war reveals how, under maximum stress, the Russian army achieved near-impossible feats in the field and the factories. All the diplomatic moves and counter-moves, including the all-important conferences at Tehran and Yalta, also come vividly alive., A compelling account of the Red Army's epic struggle to drive the Germans out of Russia and back to Berlin. Beginning with the destruction of the German Sixth Army at Stalingrad, THE ROAD TO BERLIN is the story of how the Red Army drove the Germans from its territory, and finally invaded the Reich. Using an enormous range of primary sources - Soviet, German and Eastern European - John Erickson describes fighting and hardship on a scale almost unimaginable in the West. He provides a detailed narrative of all the battles on all the fronts, and also of the Soviet system of war which achieved, under maximum stress, near impossible feats in the field and in the factories. The book also tells of the diplomatic moves and counter-moves, including the all-important conferences at Tehran and Yalta. Comprehensive, compelling, and immensely readable, it is an indispensable book for any student of the Second World War.

- e***h (108)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoThe books shipped fast and arrived in great condition. The packaging was very nice and neat, and easy to get into. The books were well insulated by the stuffing of the package (packing paper rolled up along the insides.) The books were just as described and pictured, so no problems there. I definitely got my money's worth on this order for sure & would definitely order from this seller again. I'll be keeping them in mind the next time I need such an old specialty book (awesome to get it bundled)
- i***c (43)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoThough I haven't had a chance to look through all the volumes that came in this order, they appear to be in excellent condition and look very good. I'm really pleased that the seller (Tom the Book Guy) got my shipment in the mail promptly and sent the box by Ground Advantage so they arrived in only two days. I'm also pleased that these books were priced so reasonably. They are all high-quality academic books and I'm sure I will enjoy them in the weeks ahead. Thanks for such a smooth transaction!
