I have to give a shout out to my buddy Annie Smith (Quilting Stash podcaster) for her book, the Ultimate Applique Guidebook. This book is sensational! Everything you need to succeed with applique is within its pages. There are over 150 applique design elements-flowers, leaves, stems, vases, birds etc-and you can mix and match all of the elements to design your own applique treasures! There are reviews for both hand and machine techniques for applique, as well as step-by-step instructions with very detailed pictures to help you through the applique process. Every tool you need is reviewed, and full-size patterns and beautiful examples of applique quilts are also included. Annie really did a bang-up job with this book and I couldn't be more pleased for her, as there is hardly a more generous and humble person in the industry.
