In addition, this unit’s simple plug-and-play nature makes it extremely easy to deploy. There is no software to configure or user settings to customize. With its out-of-the-box installation type, you will have a working switch once you connect it to a power source and turn it on. Compared to Wi-Fi networks, wired connections are generally faster, more secure and less expensive. Suitable for small office environments where networking devices can be placed in proximity to the switch or router, running physical cables to connect your hardware is more ideal than going wireless. With the NetGear FS105 linking your local area network (LAN), you acquire the speed, stability and powerful performance necessary to maximize productivity and increase operational efficiency in your organization. What’s more, you get all these benefits at a very affordable price. Forming part of the popular NetGear FS100 product family of unmanaged desktop switches, the FS105 model comes with five 10/100 ports capable of delivering data at 10 times the speed of Ethernet connections or 100 megabits per second (Mbps). For even faster connections, full-duplex capability enables the switch to operate at up to 200Mbps in dedicated bandwidth. With integrated automatic flow control enabled, data gets transmitted without delays and service interruptions. Providing support for up to five wired devices, easily connect your computers, notebooks, laptops, gaming consoles and storage devices to your LAN. Equipped with auto negotiation functionality, each port automatically determines the various existing modes, such as speed and duplex, in the attached device. The port then configures itself to the highest performance setting of interoperation. This facilitates simple and automatic connection of devices, regardless of mode and manufacturer. Also integrated into this NetGear product is the innovative Auto Uplink technology, which detects and implements the correct cable that is required for the connection. You do not need to worry whether to use a straight-through or cross-over cable to link devices. With these built-in Ethernet standards, the switch does all the work for you. This NetGear device comes with power savings features to help you reduce energy costs and earn big savings for your business. With a total electrical consumption of only 7 watts, the on-board power-down mechanism disables unused interfaces. Sleep mode is also activated when the device becomes idle or inactive. Light emitting diode status indicators, which help you monitor link, speed and activity on each port, can be toggled on and off using the button found at the rear of the device. Experience up to 60-percent reduction in power costs with the NetGear FS105. This unit includes a wall mount kit if you want to discreetly tuck it away, although any desktop space will do due to the device’s flat and compact form factor.
