No problems pulling from 4.5 feet down, although the solid pipes are only about 3 ft long so that’s up to my elbow to reach, and you get about ten seconds of suction before it’s totally full, it’s QUICK. A bit vicious to suck pure water but it’ll be ideal for my filter deep cleans.

Since purchased a length of drain pipe to connect so i can do it from standing position hope that works better

Great delivery time, price and seller communication. Also, the box must have been really well handled in transit - of 50 fat balls only one suffered (minor) damage en route. I sent pictures of damage and poor packaging and proof of return postage but they would not exchange/send out replacement until they had the damage product at their unit, which would have taken a week to receive new item and my poor gecko would be homeless for 3 days
