Reviews
"Dave Barry is one funny human." San Francisco Examiner "ONE OF BARRY'S BEST COLLECTIONS, this book should delight his devoted readers and will surely make the uninitiated sit up and take notice." The Associated Press "Reading Barry with another person in the room invariably elicits one of two responses: 'What's so funny' or 'For God's sake, shut up'." Synopsis
Pulitzer Prize-winning humorist Dave Barry is a pretty amiable guy. But lately, he's been getting a little worked up. What could make a mild-mannered man of words so hot under the collar? Well, a lot of thingslike bad public art, Internet millionaires, SUVs, Regis Philbin . . . and even bigger problems, like The slower-than-deceased-livestock left-lane drivers who apparently believe that the right lane is sacred and must never come in direct contact with tires The parent-misery quotient of last-minute school science fair projects Day trading and other careers that never require you to take off your bathrobe The plague of the low-flow toilets, which is so bad that even in Miami, where you can buy drugs just by opening your front door and yelling "Hey! I want some crack," you can't even sell your first born to get a normal-flushing toilet Dave Barry is not taking any of this sitting down. He's going to stand up for the rights of all Americans against ridiculously named specialty "chino" coffees and the IRS. Just as soon as he gets the darn toilet flushed. - p***w (619)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoIf this is a used book it is like in hot off the press, unread condition!💕👍😉 very well taken care of, wrapped in plastic and then brown wrapping. Thank goodness nothing hit or cut the wrapping in shipping. I would suggest boxing booms next time, it would be so worth the extra shipping costto us book collectors. Good and quick responses in messaging, would buy from again.Area 51 by Annie Jacobsen (N° 186680495938)
- e***b (1155)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoA BIG "Thank you" to Katya's...showing photos of the actual item-for-sale helped me track down this elusive 1987 copy. And taking a little extra time to pre-wrap the naked book in clingwrap was greatly appreciated when the package got wet before it arrived; but the book was fine! This buyer also heartily approves of sellers who are willing haggle over price.Company Commander by Charles B. MacDonald (N° 186447129752)
- d***d (200)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoExactly the edition of the book I hoped to receive and in good condition. The seller was very helpful in confirming befpre shipping. The packaging was slightly unusual but amongst the most effective I have encountered: shrink wrap then thick brown paper; the result was so strong it was hard to believe it wasn't thick cardboard.
