This was not disclosed even though it would have been an obvious problem since from the pictures it was turned on. I managed to figure out how to clear the password so no harm other than my time. Otherwise transaction was good and item was packaged very well. The lens was in the condition that the seller described, which is to say "pretty much perfect". And it works even better than I'd expected - nice and sharp, smooth action on the focus ring. So A+ for value! I am entirely happy with this transaction and I would buy from the seller again!
