According to the local joke, the town was so small that the "Welcome" sign and the "Ya'll Come Back" sign were nailed on opposite sides of the same post. This is a story about that town as related to the author by his Uncle Weldon long after he was grown and living in Texas. This is both a love story and a murder mystery that unfolds over a period of seven days in July, 1932, that Uncle Weldon insisted was the most memorable week of his life.
