Product Information
The Jawbone Big Jambox is a medium model portable speaker, measuring about 10 inches long, 3.5 inches high, and 3 inches wide. It weighs almost 3 lbs and has eight small rubber shock-absorbing feet and a complete metal mesh covering for extra protection. This model is the Graphite Hex version is black in color and has a ripple effect steel mesh and a small chrome-metal Jawbone plate. It has six large buttons on its top for volume control, navigating tracks, playing and pausing, and the J button, which announces the remaining battery life. On its side it has a Bluetooth button for easy device linking, an Aux-in port, a line-in port, and a MicroUSB port for charging. Expected battery life is 15 hours, with a recharge time of 2.5 hours when plugged into a wall socket via the MicroUSB charger. Internally the Jambox has two main speakers and two opposing bass radiators that work together to produce a wider range of sound. The Big Jambox can remember up to eight other Bluetooth devices for quick linking. The Big Jambox has several inbuilt software and hardware features that aim to improve listening experience. It has a built in 360 degree microphone with echo cancellation and noise reduction software. This not only enables it to function as a high-quality speakerphone, but also it can be upgraded with apps from Jawbone’s MyTalk website that can alter functionality, adding the ability to give limited voice commands and even actively working to counter background noise. LiveAudio is an algorithm designed to maximize 3D sound by altering the audio as it plays, potentially creating a more vivid and live feel. Automatic volume adjustment not only attempts to equalize volume across different tracks, but also to minimize distortion at higher volumes by adjusting parts of the audio.
