For connectivity to multiple devices, a separate router can be utilized. The Zoom DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem offers incredibly high transmission speeds. It has a download speed of up to 343Mbps and an upload speed of up to 143Mbps. The modem is also compatible with DOCSIS 2.0 and 1.1 services, which operate at a lower speed. The compatibility with DOCSIS 3.0, as well as earlier versions, ensures the system is compatible with all U.S. operators and that operation with the fastest services available is gained. This router also benefits from having advanced Broadcom integrated circuit technology. The Zoom cable modem has fast data speeds and includes bonding of four channels on uploads, as well as up to eight channels on downloads. With four more downstream channels than 4x4 cable modems, this 8x4 cable modem offers higher download speeds, even when the modem’s optimum service speed of 343Mbps is not reached. You can plug your modem directly into a computer to gain Internet access or into a wired, or wireless router, for high-speed network access from multiple devices. The Zoom DOCSIS 3.0 has a fast Ethernet port connection. The RJ-45 10/10/1,000 Mbps Base-T LAN Ethernet port provides easy installation and compatibility with computers using most Windows, Linus, or MAC platforms. It can also connect to a HomePlug adapter, a wireless access point, a router, and other devices that are Ethernet-enabled. Connecting to a router allows you to enjoy network access from multiple devices, such as a smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Simple in its design yet offering high transmission speeds, this sleek and stylish modem is a solution to all network connections in the home. The black desktop unit is compact in size and fits neatly on a unit or by your computer. It measures 6.3 inches by 4.9 inches by 1.3 inches and has a space-saving design that means you can either place it horizontally or vertically in its stand. It weighs just over half a pound for easy portability. You can monitor the status of the modem easily, by looking at the five status-reporting LEDs on the front of the unit. This means it works with most U.S. cable service providers, such as Time Warner Cable, Cox, Cable ONE, Comcast, and Bright House. As well as the modem stand, the Zoom 5341J is supplied with an Ethernet cable, a Quick Start flyer, and an energy-saving switching power cube.     Great value. Shipped quickly and arrived in good condition as described. There was zero damage in transit but only through good luck, as the packaging was almost non existent just a thin plastic envelope - no padding. If I order from this vendor again I will request that they use extra packing materials.
