Product Information
Like other groups with dangerous occupations, mariners have developed a close-knit culture bound by loss and memory. Death regularly disrupts the fabric of this culture and necessitates actions designed to mend its social structure. From the ritual of burying a body at sea to the creation of memorials to honor the missing, these events tell us a great deal about how sailors see their world. Based on a study of more than 2,100 gravestones and monuments in North America and the United Kingdom erected between the seventeenth and late twentieth centuries, David Stewart expands the use of nautical archaeology into terrestrial environments. He focuses on those who make their living at sea--one of the world's oldest and most dangerous occupations--to examine their distinct folkloric traditions, beliefs, and customs regarding death, loss, and remembrance. A volume in the series New Perspectives on Maritime History and Nautical Archaeology, edited by James C. Bradford and Gene Allen Smith.

- e***e (651)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoItem as described, well packaged, great price, unfortunately it took 9 days to arrive from stated dispatch date and seller didn’t respond to my request to investigate why tracking was still showing it as awaiting dispatch for a number of days.
- n***w (3)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoItem arrived on time and was packaged well. The item was exactly as advertised and was amazing value compared to other places. The seller was also incredibly speedy at replying to my enquiries. Although it was not the fault of the seller (the packaging used to send the item was more than sufficient), my figure did have a manufacturing defect (the left hand was broken off). Thankfully superglue put it back in place and no one can tell it was broken.Ichibansho Figure Dragon Ball Demon Piccolo Daimaoh(Ex Mystical Adventure) (N° 375870724809)
- e***d (16)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoItem arrived earlier than expected, long delivery time but isn’t necessarily the sellers fault only standard shipping available. Item decently packaged could have been more securely packaged though. Good price compared to other marketplaces and sellers. I cannot comment on the seller’s communication as I did not contact the seller. Overall good experience only complaint would be delivery time but again this isn’t solely the sellers fault.
