The Sony HVR-A1U features a newly developed 1/3-inch C-MOS imager, 1920x1080 native resolution, and is also capable of snapping 3 mega-pixel still images on the fly. When it is time to bring distant objects up close, you can do so with ease thanks to the high-quality Optical Zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens. This optical-grade lens is designed to work with Sony's new 14 bit A/D and DXP digital Extended Processor, resulting in precise image acquisition with superb detail and clarity. The new HVR-A1U records this exceptional imagery using the recently adopted HDV 1080i format onto a DVCAM mini cassette.
