Does make contact with the acoustic cover for the intake manifold, but I placed a couple anti slip sticky things (see pictures) on it and it's fine. Car handles way better, less bouncy at all speeds and far less body roll through bends. Solid steel bars are almost always better than aluminium ones. For the price I highly recommend any E46 owner purchase this.
