An explosive meeting of the minds--and hearts--takes place in a rundown tenement in Danny Green's debut feature, where two artists struggle to express themselves despite their very different obstacles. Harry Lesser (Dylan McDermott) is a white, blocked writer who has been working on his novel for the past 10 years. Willie Spearmint (Snoop Dogg in a disconcertingly intense performance) is an uneducated militant determined to write a history of the black experience. The two expand each other's notions of artistry, becoming friends and ultimately rivals in both art and love.
