Gamers freely explore an alien world set in a parallel universe in a remastered version of the 3D action-adventure title Outcast. Second Contact put players in the role of Navy SEAL Cutter Slade as he travels to the planet Adelpha to retrieve a probe and help close a black hole that threatens to destroy Earth. Gamers can explore the six regions of the planet, using travel gates or native beasts to quickly navigate between regions, and they must communicate with the humanoid Talan locals to uncover the mysteries of the planet and move closer to their objectives.<br><br>Each Talan character has a unique personality and will react to Slade in realistic ways based on his current reputation, and as players learn more about the planet they will eventually become involved in a conflict between different Talan castes. Gamers can wield futuristic energy weapons and collect special gadgets as they explore each region, and they can take materials to Talans called Recreators to craft more ammunition.
