The NetGear ProSafe GS748TP 48-port gigabit smart switch belongs to the era of Gigabit PoE/PoE+ Smart Managed Switches. With the L2 and L2+ features and improved PoE functionality on all ports, this switch provides high performance. The GS748TP provides power and data with its built-in IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet technology on all 48 ports so there is no need for additional power cables. Setup, installation, and configuration is made easy with its intuitive web-based management tool. This type of comprehensive management tool makes it very simple and easy to deploy and manage advanced features by the use of a web browser. Designed for SMB (Small Medium Business) customers, its SMB-oriented features and easy management enables SMB networks to efficiently support VoIP (Voice over IP)/VoIP phones, video streaming, multicasting, security, IP-based surveillance cameras and other bandwidth-intensive applications. The NetGear GS748TP Smart Switch gives growing businesses full control over their network. The GS748TP’s PoE (Power over Ethernet) feature lets Ethernet cables supply the power for network devices and at the same time transmits data in the normal way. Because the connection is over an Ethernet cable, it’s easier for hardware devices to be connected and their connections are also very easy to maintain. PoE makes large projects easier to get set up and running. The stacking feature provides smaller businesses a complete switching solution since the stackable smart switches are scalable and easy to manage. This is very effective in increasing network performance. Businesses can also scale up to six switches in one stack, and all of them are configurable and managed as one switch. As the network expands, switches are added to the stack. This feature helps boost network resiliency. The NetGear ProSafe GS748TP has a data transfer rate of 1000 Mbps, with ports 48 x 10/100/1000 (PoE) + 4 x shared SFP for fiber connectivity. Its compliant standard is from IEEE 802.1D to IEEE 802.3af. The hardware’s minimum operating temperature is 32 degrees Fahrenheit and the maximum operating temperature is 122 F. The unit’s width is 17.3 inches, depth is 10.1 inches, height is 1.6 inches and weight is 15 lbs. Warranty support is provided by NetGear. This switch comes with advanced features such as Access Control List (ACL), Quality of Service (QoS), IGMP snooping, flow control, auto-negotiation, auto-uplink (auto MDI/MDI-X), store and forward, Broadcast Storm Control, DHCP support, SNTP support, Syslog support, port mirroring, firmware upgradable, MAC address filtering and IP address filtering. The Access Control List (ACL) feature saves network resources by reducing traffic. An ACL is a table that tells a computer OS which access rights each user or device has to a particular file or file directory. Each file or file directory has a security attribute that identifies its access control list. The NetGear ProSafe GS748TP Smart Switch makes an excellent administration software. The advanced Quality of Service (QoS) feature of NetGear GS748TP Gigabit Ethernet Switch manages internet traffic for apps, online games, Ethernet LAN ports or specified MAC addresses to minimize the impact of busy bandwidth.
