They were used to attach cedar rails to metal fence posts. Stainless steel tends to be softer than other steel screws and the Philips screw head slots are relatively shallow due to their low profile - they can round out if you do not apply firm and straight pressure to the driver bit. In soft cedar this was not a big issue, but good driver technique may be more important in harder wood. Would buy again.
