Full length recording of The Durutti Column, live in NY (at The Bottom Line) in 1987. This 1999 CD includes the ROIR label cassette release plus a bonus track. The atmosphere conjured by Vini Reilly, with Bruce Mitchell and John Metcalfe, is unlike anything else. Somehow it exists in a world of post punk and what feels like a dark tunnel in a garden, with just a little bit of light peering through (inspiration for that metaphor can be found in Golden Gate Park in SF, by the way). An excellent set list of songs of the period. Enjoy.
