As the sibling console of the Neo Geo AES, the Neo Geo CD video game system provides the same quality 16-bit graphics while utilizing a CD-ROM storage medium. By using a 1x CD-ROM drive, this video game system increased potential game size. The Neo Geo CD console has a display resolution of 320x224 pixels and is capable of displaying 380 sprites on screen at any given moment. The Neo Geo CD console uses a six-button controller configuration (consisting of four letter buttons, a start button, and a select button) with an analog stick. Furthermore, the console possesses two controller ports to allow for multiplayer gameplay.
