"A book that rightly belongs on the shelf of any US Civil War enthusiast and one that provides a bit more insight into what is called the first modern war. Highly recommended." -- Scott Van Aken, modelingmadness.com (September 2008), "A book that rightly belongs on the shelf of any US Civil War enthusiast and one that provides a bit more insight into what is called the first modern war. Synopsis
Some 150,000 Irish-American immigrants served in the Union Army during the Civil War (1861-1865), most of them from Boston, New York and Chicago, and about 40,000 fought in the Confederate Army. The best known unit was the Irish Brigade of the Union Army of the Potomac, which distinguished itself at Antietam and, particularly, at Fredericksburg, where its sacrificial bravery astonished friend and foe alike. Famous regiments were New York's 'Fighting 69th', the 9th Massachusetts, 116th Pennsylvania, 23rd Illinois and 35th Indiana. Two Louisiana Confederate brigages from New Orleans were almost entirely Irish and several other Irish companies made a name for themselves at Shiloh, Chickamauga and other key battles. This book will give a brief overview of the history of the units on each side of the conflict and will be illustrated with uniform details, flags and archival photographs.

- 7***n (10)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoItem is as exactly as described, and arrived just on time, packed well. As others have said, it wasn't exactly shipped at light speed, but it was a really good deal and everything went to plan. Just make sure you don't need the item for a month or so. (My order was placed May 12, with estimated delivery window May 22 - Jun 11. Tracking number was provided Jun 2, with delivery on Jun 11.)

The packaging was highly professional, which is why the item came in superb, pristine condition. The seller was excellent with their communication, and I could not have been happier. - n***n (20)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoSeller took over a week to actually ship the product and I’m not sure why, though I’m still inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt, I dunno what their staffing situation is like. Regardless, product was exactly as described at a great price, and I have no other complaints.Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles: Omnibus 3 (Seirei Gensouki: Spirit (N° 167291017927)
