The world's favorite plumber is back in a new video game series: Mario Sports Mix for Nintendo Wii. Instead of smashing enemies and saving the princess, in this Mario Wii game, players battle a variety of Nintendo's most famous characters in four classic sports: dodge ball, volleyball, basketball, and hockey. Unlike regular sports games, Mario Sports Mix adds the need to collect gold coins to win bonus prizes and unlock special moves. Traditional Mario video game staples are included, such as Koopa turtle shells to hurl at opponents, fireballs to stop rivals in their tracks, and walking bombs to keep everyone guessing. Using the motion controllers, this Mario Wii game will have players out of their seats shooting hoops and spiking the ball in the virtual Mario universe. In Mario Sports Mix, players can choose a variety of characters such as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, and a host of other options, each with unique signature moves and different strengths. Each of the four games has a host of options, allowing players to team up against the computer or up to four players. Mario Sports Mix also allows people to play against friends and strangers online via the Internet.
