I'm not using it to take photos but to hold when I'm using the phone. So it's not really comfortable using it when I have the phone in an upright position, it has to be held sideways. And holder cannot stretch to fit the phone in the upright position if the hand of the stick is to be held upright. I'm making the most of it anyway. Thank you. AndreaB

Unfortunately, if you want to turn the stick so you're taking a portrait/vertical the vinyl handle will turn such that it will twist on the shaft and the push button will slide off the actual switch underneath that is simply attached with a small piece of clear tape. If you only take landscape/horizontal shots then the vinyl sleeve is least likely to twist. On the flipside, this stick was fairly inexpensive
