Ebalunga!!! presents a joyful reissue of the legendary compilation album 'My Pussy Belongs To Daddy'! Released in 1957 on the Beacon label run by the legendary producer Joe Davis - it was one of the first albums which captured the audience's attention by means of double entendres in the songs. The release became one of the most eccentric and scandalous albums of it's time and remains one of the most sought-after gems in the history of discography. It was unusual at the time for women to sing such explicit songs, and it may have helped bring the album into the spotlight and make it attractive to a wider audience. Despite many controversies and scandals due to it's provocative title and it's immediately recognizable raunchy cover, the album managed to find it's fans and become one of the best-selling albums on the label. However, despite delivering the highest quality of music, it remained famous for it's scandalous cover image (poster included in the kit of course...). This image was chosen to reflect the bold and experimental nature of the songs on the album and it caused a real societal outrage at the time. The LP was banned from many stores which only spurred further interest in the LP and of the most controversial covers in the history of music. The 10-track album, performed by Fay Richmond, Angelina, Miss D, and Saul T. Peter, was one of the first albums to introduce many new provocative themes in the songs. Despite it's suggestive nature, the album's music was endearingly soft and romantic. Although the album outreached to a mass audience with it's love-related themes, it was also recognized for it's jazz explorations performed by Saul T. Peter. The most popular song on the album was the song 'My Pussy Belongs to Daddy', performed by Fay Richmond. Initially shocking due to it's provocative title, it eventually became an iconic release of the 1950s. The same thing happened to the LP as a whole - it's playful and delicate content captivated even the hardiest of connoisseurs. You'll find yourself running to the turntable and dropping the needle back to the starting groove time and time again while being completely captivated by the moods and the sounds of this amazing LP. This was happening at a time when multiple changes were taking place in the world of music - in particular the inception of rock and roll and new emerging genres such as soul, funk, and blues rock. And although 'My Pussy Belongs To Daddy' is completely true to it's roots in jazz, swing, and easy listening, we can already witness to the voice of change on the LP. 'My Pussy Belongs to Daddy' is a mixture of genres and dance music which was popular in the 50s and which developed as a result of many intertwined cultural and musical influences. This compilation later became popular with the 'in', R&B, crowd and contributed to the evolution of the style. Together, these artists created landmark music that demonstrated that sexual innuendo and comical double entendres can be a part of serious musical expression. Today, more than 65 years after it's first release, the compilation album 'My Pussy Belongs to Daddy' remains not only an exceptional collector's gem but also an important historical document portraying a specific turning point in the musical history of the US in the 1950s. Incendiary melodies, fantastic arrangements, performance skills, daring lyrics, friendly irony and humor, and boundless spirit of freedom, boldness, and honesty made this release gain a cult following and a desirable collector's artifact. Despite the provocative title, the songs on the album are not sexual in nature and do not contain vulgar words.
