A unique devotional book that introduces me to forty spiritual friends from around the globe who are taking footsteps with me., The personal stories will surprise and challenge you while enveloping you in the deep resonance of scriptural understanding through an Anabaptist lens., These fresh footsteps marking the path of global Anabaptism lead past desert casinos and fields of ethnic conflict, down the back streets of Kolkata and tenements of Hong Kong, along ragged migrant trails and the grounds of martyrdom. The earnest longing: that they might yet follow in the path of a resurrected Christ., The devotionals compiled in Footsteps of Faith recount the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus through the remarkably vulnerable testimonies of Anabaptists from across the globe. Many devotional collections can feel generic--this one does not. The joys and challenges of following Jesus in Germany, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, and beyond come into high relief through these deeply personal entries. This is a genuinely moving collection that I will return to repeatedly for encouragement., These wonderful meditations stirred my Calvinist soul. My own footsteps in following Jesus were made firmer by walking alongside these Anabaptist Christ-followers., It is a rare privilege to sit with forty Anabaptist followers of Jesus from twenty-four countries as they reflect on the Jesus story. But here it is. Grab this gem! And then...sit with it. Marinate in it. And be thankful for the diverse family God is assembling from around the world., Footsteps of Faith does not prioritize Western voices, but invites readers to engage with a global perspective of our faith, centered on the risen Christ--the same Christ who called Anabaptist followers 500 years ago and continues to call us today to rise above the tribalism and nationalism present in our world., Encounter Jesus more fully through the eyes of sisters and brothers from around the world. Forty Anabaptist church leaders, men and women from five continents, draw connections between gospel texts about Jesus' ministry and challenging moments in their own personal journeys of faith. Readers will sense the Holy Spirit's work across cultural and geographical boundaries, inviting all to be part of a global movement of Christ-followers.

Unfortunately I received a damaged book, the item and the package both were damaged and it was clearly evident its appearance that it happened during transit. The seller was very understanding and gave me a full refund for the damaged book, though it was no fault of their own. Other than the damage, the book was as described, the quality and condition aside from the damaged spot was like new. The cost of the book was reasonable. I would definitely purchase from the seller again.

Although this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate.
