Synopsis
The story of America's first entrepreneur, taken from his own words, adapted for today's business reader"Franklin's autobiography is America's first great self-help book. It teaches in a delightful way how to win friends, influence people, and succeed in business. Professor McCormick makes this great work more accessible and adds his own insights." --Walter Isaacson, author," Benjamin Franklin: An American Life"Ben Franklin is the only modern translation of Franklin's original autobiography covering both the founding father's life and the formation of his business acumen from 1706 through 1757. It deciphers the colonial context of Franklin's autobiography and clearly presents Franklin's observations and experiences in the business world in ways that modern readers can appreciate and apply. Part I details Franklin's upbringing, explaining the lessons he learned on his way to owning his own business.Part II covers Franklin's years as a printer and concludes when he retires from his business.Part III showcases a highly effective Franklin applying his business knowledge as he moves into the public arena. Special sidebars link concepts introduced in the original autobiography with today's business environment, over two centuries later., An adaptation of Benjamin Franklin's 18th century autobiography. It covers his captivating adventures including his almost single-handed responsibility for establishing the first media empire, the first public library, the first fire brigade, the University of Pennsylvania, and the first book club and the first franchise.

- e***- (122)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Mese scorsoAcquisto verificatoUnfortunately I received a damaged book, the item and the package both were damaged and it was clearly evident its appearance that it happened during transit. The seller was very understanding and gave me a full refund for the damaged book, though it was no fault of their own. Other than the damage, the book was as described, the quality and condition aside from the damaged spot was like new. The cost of the book was reasonable. I would definitely purchase from the seller again.
- v***v (2102)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoAlthough this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate. How to chalk talk, by Harlan Tarbell (N° 197064259889)
