Synopsis
A core text for undergraduate mainstreaming courses, or a supplement in Introduction to Special Education courses. Reflecting the growing movement toward more complete inclusion of students with disabilities in the mainstream of education, the new edition of this leading text emphasizes the needs of special learners and how regular classroom teachers can effectively meet these needs. A practical, easy-to-follow three-part organization provides the following information: 1) A history of education for handicapped individuals and of legislation which governs service delivery; 2) specifics of the nature of exceptionalities and how characteristics help determine instructional needs; and 3) instructional strategies most likely to be effective with special needs learners. The first four chapters concentrate on information applicable for all exceptionalities; while the balance of the text consists of eight chapters, each of which is devoted to a specific exceptionality., Reflecting the growing movement toward more complete inclusion of students with disabilities in the mainstream of education, this text emphasizes the needs of special learners and how regular classroom teachers can effectively meet these needs. - v***v (2076)- Feedback lasciato dall'acquirente.Ultimi 6 mesiAcquisto verificatoAlthough this book was not as described, with no picture of it in the listing, the seller communicated well and quickly gave me a full refund while letting me keep it. The minimal packaging left the book a bit vulnerable (typical for ThriftBooks), but it did arrive safely and timely. As usual, it’s hit or miss with this seller, but often times you can get great values, and their customer service is always very good. Many other sellers with millions of transactions don’t even communicate.
