Product Information

During professional training all manual therapists, from osteopaths and chiropracters to manual physical therapists, massage therapists and aromatherapists, learn their professional techniques and skills in depth, but to date there has been little attempt to present the 'fundamentals' of manual therapy and thereby to support practice with research-based theory. 'Fundamentals of Manual Therapy' addresses this need by examining the physiological effect of therapeutic manipulation and touch on the human body. It presents the physiological, neurophysiological and psychological basis of manual techniques, giving the therapist the background and theory needed to support practice, and helping therapists to provide safer and more effective treatment. Written by Eyal Lederman, a leading osteopath, the text examines tissue physiology, neurology and psychosomatic changes in response to manipulative techniques. It draws on the teachings and texts of physiology, neurophysiology, psychology and biomechanics, as well as manual techniques and other manual disciplines. It is relevant to all manual therapists, helping both students and practitioners to understand why and how their techniques work. Features: * An innovative text that draws together material from many sources * Provides manual therapists with the theoretic ammunition to explain why and how their techniques work * Highly illustrated to clarify the text and aid understanding * Uniquely, demonstrates the clinical relevance of the physiological research presented * A highly accessible text for students and practitioners

A smooth and professional transaction throughout. The item was exactly as described, clearly listed, and fairly priced. Communication from the seller was prompt, polite, and helpful, with dispatch confirmed quickly. The parcel was securely packaged and arrived in excellent condition, ahead of the expected delivery date. Care was taken at every stage of the process. I would be happy to buy from this seller again—many thanks for a reliable and well-handled sale.

I had an outstanding experience with this seller! The item was exactly as described, and it arrived well-packaged and in perfect condition. The seller was incredibly responsive and helpful, answering all my questions promptly. The shipping was super fast, and I received the package within just a few days. A truly professional and reliable seller who goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service. I look forward to doing business with them again in the future. Thank you so much!

A series of unfortunate events. Ordered with a dvd which was found wanting so cancelled and refunded quickly. A book arrived, but not the two books (and slipcase) advertised. ISBN issue? Initially I could not locate it as I expected an appropriately bulky package. Once notified, WoB customer service stepped up and I was asked to choose a book at a similar price point as compensation. This is why I use WoB so often - things do go wrong sometimes but they respond appropriately. Many many thanks.
