Many institutions for the deaf have dropped it from their official titles as inappropriate and misleading. No schools organized within the last thirty years make use of it. It has been thought best, therefore, in the interest of a most reasonable reform, to omit it from the following pages. But I should have asked questions about the book. It is really just a recreation of a collection of pages from old catalogues. I was hoping for more information & history of some of the Chickering models. This was not worth $18 to me. Would have been helpful if the seller had given examples of some pages.
