This dude is clearly an Akorn grill user with a plasma cutting table. I filed all the cut edges and seasoned it. I seared a ribeye directly on it and even dump charcoal on it and sear right over it using the grill grate. You're not doing that with the ceramic one. It arrived pretty darned quick via USPS to my door. Like 3-4 days. Good quality, great value, looks and works very good.

I used it yesterday to fix 2 racks St. Louis style ribs and I really like the design of it. The 15 inch diameter of the round part makes a big difference in the amount of space on the grate that does not get direct heat. The ceramic ones are only 13 1/2 in. leaving a larger area of direct heat. I dropped my ceramic one after I only had it for 2 weeks and it broke. I am actually glad that it did because the results with this one is much better. A+++
