Did some work to attain accuracy and on DC & AC volt ranges it is accurate. Comes with probes but no batteries. I would say that the advert does not do the meter justice since owning it and reading the manual (I know that is not a man things to do) I have discovered extra features I find useful for example the NCV setting that shows if a circuit is live without contacting any connections.
