Synopsis
In a world of uncertainties, particularly in higher education, one thing is certain: fundraising is vital to the operation, and even survival, of universities-private and public. Higher education leaders realize tuition revenue and legislative support alone will not build a great university, and only through private gift support can substantial endowments be built and scholarships provided for students, endowed faculty chairs and professorships created, and capital support to maintain bricks and mortar-not to mention the importance of annual giving which can provide unrestricted support for an institution. Private gift support is essential for any organization to advance in today's highly constrained resource environment. The case method of study has been around since the time of Cicero and can be in contrast to other teaching methods. These cases do not have 'right' and 'wrong' answers or easy solutions. They present team members and students with an opportunity to explore multiple avenues under difficult circumstances. The cases in this book are complex and difficult, and team members and students will need plenty of questioning to absorb the complexities and nuances of each case. Includes These Case Studies, by Institutional Type: Community College Community College Donor Dilemma / 5 Comprehensive Regional University Angry Heirs / 47 Beware of Arbitrage / 115 Community College Donor Dilemma / 5 Perils of Life Insurance / 87 Philanthropy Intersects with Eminent Domain / 155 Research University Athletics and Academics / 73 Paying for the Campaign / 19 Protection of Donor Information / 141 System and Campus Administration / 61 Private College/University Demise of a College / 127 Internal Strife / 183 The Lost Merger / 197 The Vanishing Name / 169 Two Donors, One Building / 33 White Elephants and Gifts that Eat / 101, In a world of uncertainties, particularly in higher education, one thing is certain: fundraising is vital to the operation, and even survival, of universities-private and public. The book, "The Unbreakable Brain," is better than "as described". It looks like a brand new, unused book in excellent condition, which makes it a super value for the cost. It was shipped in a protective package with free shipping, yet another super value! I am incredibly pleased with this seller, and they even sent me a coupon to buy four and get two books free. That's a fantastic gift and quite generous! Thank you for being an excellent seller!

Item came as described and the price was good. Could have been packed better, as the item came damaged due to the shippers not handling the box with care. Just a small dent in the corner of a box set for book series. Not the biggest deal. Bubble wrap would have prevented this.

This seller sold me a classical music piano book at a great price. Reliable, as-advertised product. Robust packing, fast arrival via US media mail, reliable, & affordable. Nice, pleasant, experience. Quality & Condition are superb, clean appearance & pages , well-cared for, smoke-free. As described & shown in pictures. Value surpasses similar sellers. No unpleasant surprises, good transaction. Highly recommend! Cheers, JD.
