The participants include Briony Tallis, her older sister Cecilia, Robbie Turner, who carries a torch for Cecilia; and various visitors and family members. A series of misperceptions, fuelled by the summer heat and Briony's childish hurts and fevered imagination, lead to a dramatic false accusation that lands Robbie in jail. We meet all three characters five years later in the thick of World War II, as foot soldier Robbie prepares for the Dunkirk evacuation and the two estranged sisters train as nurses in London.<BR>With her rule being publicly challenged by Spanish king Phillip II, Queen Elizabeth I is up against great turmoil, both politically and in her personal life in ELIZABETH - THE GOLDEN AGE.<BR>In SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE, the reign of Elizabeth I finds Will Shakespeare, a writer, broke and envious of a rival. Then, he meets with a woman who wants to be an actor and who disguises herself as a man.<BR>VANITY FAIR follows the fortunes of Becky Sharp as she climbs the social ladder. Determined to reach the top, Becky schemes and seduces those who get in her way. Her progress is threatened, however, when she encounters real love.<BR>PRIDE AND PREJUDICE follows the five Bennet sisters as they deal with suitors and love, as their mother desperately schemes to marry them off advantageously. Sweet-tempered beauty Jane develops feelings for the equally amiable and extremely wealthy Mr. Bingley, but forces conspire to keep them apart while Lizzie finds herself first appalled by, but gradually drawn to, Bingley's aloof, intelligent, and socially awkward friend, Mr. Darcy.

    Item was packaged reasonably well, although a sturdier box next time would be a good idea. Nonetheless, item arrive quickly and undamaged from what I can tell. No real complaints, I'm happy to have this rare puzzle from the 70's. Good value and honest seller. Recommended.
