The rod was actually better than described, in that the rod butt wasn't scratched like seen on rod butts that have seen use on a boat. This rod was NEVER fished. As for value. As both a fisherman as well as collector, the rod is in the top 1% of the rods I've purchased to display. It's almost too nice to fish. This was my second purchase, and if another became available, SOLD!
