The best novelists, he argues, have found uses for romance beyond the escapism, fantasy, and sentimentality often associated with it. Through romance, these writers mirror the extremes of American culture-the Puritan melodrama of good and evil, or the pastoral idyll inspired by the American wilderness.

The book arrived wrapped in cardboard and bubble wrap and in pristine condition - a like for like replacement. Very pleased with my experience and had a competitive rate. The item was received damaged and there was nothing inside the box it was placed in to cushion it's transportation. I spent almost $51 and seller did not want any responsibility. I sent pictures. A few more messages back and forth after calling (no chat customer service on Ebay anymore!!) and opening a return request, they finally gave half my money back that I was asking for.
