The Year My Voice Broke is set in the summer of 1962 in a remote New South Wales country town. Adopted as a baby, sixteen year-old Freya (Loene Carmen) is a constant target of cruel gossip and speculation. Spirited and independent, her one ally is Danny (Noah Taylor), who has been in love with her as long as he can remember. From a distance, Danny watches helplessly as Freya falls for the town tearaway, Trevor (Ben Mendelsohn).     Arrived today - looking every bit resplendently `new' as described. Although there is a happy segue not clear here. The seller called soon after the order to advise there was a little delay in accessing the DVD, and would I accept the bluray version? A very happy development, since I thought (very wrongly as clearly marked `dvd') I was ordering the bluray. A very generous offer - as I would certainly have paid more. Communication with this seller has to be the best that I have experienced!
