The encyclopedia set was nicely packed in an inner carton and an outer carton. The package did arrive with outer carton split open at one 90-degree fold and inner carton also split enough to see the books. But the books are all fine. I suggest using strong shipping grade cardboard for heavy shipments if it is available. Some boxes at UPS or other shipping store are extra strong. Otherwise, some used cardboard boxes are extra strong.
