One tiny little piece got broken off of the side, but I glued it back together so it is still very useable. I don't blame the seller because it was well packaged. I think it happened in the shipping. You could also use the dishwasher for the plates, but you would risk damaging the non stick surface. So, it is best to clean by hand, which is easy. Snap the parts back together and you’re done. Easy to use. However, it does not grill bread or sandwiches well. That is a problem with microwaving bread in general, not the grills fault. So grill the filling the make sandwich on toast!
