Designed to enable a LAN (Local Area Network) to seamlessly migrate to faster speeds, this five-port network switch avoids bottlenecks and relaxes bandwidth constraints to the Internet. This allows everyone using a computer connected to the network to enjoy smooth, reliable networking access. The Linksys EtherFast (EZXS55W) external switch is designed to optimize network performance and may actually double networking performance. Small, medium, and SOHO (small office/home office) networks will benefit significantly from the power of the Linksys EtherFast (EZXS55W) 5-port external switch. This external router is most likely the best value for the networking dollar. Offering support for half and full duplex speeds, a workgroup can run at 10Mbps to a possible 200Mbps without bottlenecks or difficulties with bandwidth sharing. A migration strategy that includes a workgroup upgrade would do well to consider the Linksys EtherFast (EZXS55W) switch as a viable solution. Configuration is easy; the business owner can literally plug an Ethernet cable into the ports on the back of the router, connect the computers used in the business, and upgrade his or her network instantly. By migrating the network to Fast Ethernet, this small piece of hardware will double workgroup performance without a major overhaul of the electronic infrastructure of the business. This fact makes the Linksys EtherFast (EZXS55W) switch by Cisco a cost-effective alternative to say the least. The Linksys model EZXS55W switch is a compact and mobile device. Each of the five available ports on the Linksys EtherFast switch are equipped with feedback autosensing. This fact makes the transition of Ethernet to Fast Ethernet easier. Each computer in the workgroup has the ability to run on an optimum speed. The Linksys EtherFast (EZXS55W) switch also offers an uplink port for a maximum scalability mode as well as expansion capability. By shifting the business workgroup to Fast Ethernet, dedicated full duplex bandwidth will be available on every port, allowing computer-related work to be completed faster, without bottleneck frustration. Home entertainment components can also benefit from the power of the Linksys EtherFast (EZXS55W) switch. Switches and hubs that access Fast Ethernet speeds allow the owner to show high-end video, various categories of multimedia, and other speed-intensive programming and applications without bandwidth issues.
