An Official Product of the 2009 International Year of Astronomy, it's decorated with the names of famous astronomers printed along its barrel, making it a fitting introduction to science. As one of the more accomplished entry-level small telescopes, it is loaded with capabilities and works well with accessories. The Celestron FirstScope tabletop telescope is stylish enough to be kept within your home or office, yet it's built with a 76-millimeter aperture reflector-type optical tube for an incredible viewing experience. It comes with two 1.25-inch eyepieces: a 20-millimeter/15x and a 4-millimeter/75x. It also includes a 5X24 finder scope and bracket to help point the telescope at the desired feature in the night sky. The 4-millimeter eyepiece delivers 75x magnification, and the spherical optics are sharp enough for displaying details of the lunar craters and valleys, the moons of Jupiter, the Andromeda galaxy, and star clusters such as the Pleiades. Its compact Dobsonian design makes the Celestron FirstScope an ideal traveling companion since it is easy to pack up and take with you on your hunt for a clear sky.
