For around $7AU, I think it's reasonable value for money. I did get some sparks to come from the flint with a small test. you will need to shave a fair amount and use a bit of force to get it to actually strike amd make a fire but it's something to keep in the camping survival pack. If you get one of these have a play with it so you can use it when needed.
