Based on Rumiko Takahashi's (RANMA 1/2) popular weekly comic strip, URUSEI YATSURA was one of Japan's most popular television shows during its run from 1981-1986 which produced 195 episodes of the show. It follows the adventures of Ataru, a young man who is charged with saving the Earth by competing with a beautiful alien named Lum in a game of tag. In episodes 5-8, Ataru runs away from home and finds comfort in the arms of a sorceress named Sakura. Later, Ataru, trying to avoid Lum, devises a method to insulate himself from her shocks, with disastrous consequences.
