In Hammer of the Gods, you are the lord of one of four major Viking groups. You strive to earn favor of the Norse gods by raiding, exploring, pillaging or destroying all in your path. There are four paths to follow: human, elf, troll or dwarf. Each has its own unique emphasis on how to achieve your objective but all paths require basic martial skills and an eye toward maintaining honor in pursuit of your quests. As you complete your individual quests, you are rewarded with special gifts from your chosen god to help in pursuit of even more difficult advanced missions. Your ultimate goal is to fill the position as Odin's right hand man and become the Hammer of the Gods by completing the final challenge. <br><br>With over twenty-five combat unit types, a branching quest system of advancement to choose your way through, and options for map selection, game length and four levels of difficulty settings, Hammer of the Gods provides a combination of strategy, fighting and adventuring. The game is turn-based and you can play against the able computer AI or human opponents.
